YES, your voice matters!

Take part in the study!

Nicolas Martins da Silva

The YES project is starting the data collection phase and is looking for young people to take part in individual interviews. Are you a young person who wants to make your voice heard?

Participating is easy, non-judgmental and designed for young people like you. Here you will find all the information you need before signing up.

Who can participate?

Young people aged 12 to 29 who live in the city of Esch-sur-Alzette (or spend a large part of their time there).

How does it work?

You will take part in an individual interview with two members of the research team. This is an opportunity to talk freely about your experiences, feelings and ideas regarding your local involvement, for example in associations. A short questionnaire will be sent to your postal address or by email; it must be completed before the interview.

Where?

The interview will take place in person at an easily accessible location (such as a youth centre, CRIJE, your home, etc.) or online, whichever is more convenient for you.

How long does it take?

Approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.

When?

At a time that suits you, depending on your availability. The date and time will be set together after you register.

Do I need to have any particular experience or knowledge?

No, not at all. Your personal experience is enough. There are no right or wrong answers.

Is it confidential?

Yes. Everything you share is strictly confidential and will only be used for the purposes of the study. Your name will never be mentioned in the report.

Can I change my mind after registering?

Yes. Participation is voluntary and you can withdraw at any time without having to justify your decision.

Will I receive anything in exchange for my participation?

Yes. As a thank you, you will receive a €20 gift card after participating.

Who is behind this study?

The study is being conducted by a research team from the University of Luxembourg – Centre for Childhood and Youth Research (at the request of the City of Esch-sur-Alzette), which is interested in the place of young people in local life and their experiences of participation.

How can I register or ask questions?

Simply contact the research team. We will get back to you as soon as possible: participeyes@uni.lu
