life satisfaction

“In social science research, life satisfaction is often used to measure well-being or (lasting) happiness and refers to a cognitive assessment of satisfaction with one’s life. It is a self-assessment that relates to a longer period of time. During adolescence, life satisfaction is strongly influenced by life events and relationships not only with family but also with peers. Psychosocial factors such as self-perception and self-esteem also influence life satisfaction.”
